Sentricon® Termite Control System Installation in Austin, TX
Central Texas sits in a "very heavy" termite zone. The clay-heavy soil, the mild winters, the humidity rolling in from the Gulf: it all adds up to near-perfect conditions for subterranean termites to work year-round.
Many homeowners never see it coming. By the time you notice a buckled floor or a hollow door frame, the termite colony has often been feeding for months.
That is the problem. The Sentricon® Colony Elimination System is built to address it at the source, and Roberts Termite & Pest Control is a certified provider serving homeowners across the Austin metro and surrounding counties.

What the Sentricon® System Does Differently
Most termite treatments try to build a wall. A liquid barrier is trenched into the soil around your foundation, blocking termites from crossing into your home. It can work, but it has to be perfect, and it does nothing about the colony still living and reproducing underground.
Sentricon takes a different approach entirely. Instead of trying to block termites, it uses their own behavior against them.
Worker termites spend their lives foraging. A single colony can send workers searching across an area the size of a football field. When those workers encounter Sentricon stations placed in the soil around your home, they find Recruit® HD termite bait, which termites in controlled studies prefer nearly 10 times over actual wood. They eat it. They bring it back. They share it with the colony, including the queen.
The active ingredient, noviflumuron, is an insect growth regulator that prevents termites from successfully molting. Molting is how termites grow and survive. Without it, the colony cannot sustain itself. Workers die. The queen dies. The colony is eliminated.
What Is Actually in the Ground Around Your Home
The Sentricon system relies on two EPA-registered bait products, and Roberts Termite & Pest Control is licensed and trained to deploy both.
- Recruit® HD Termite Bait is the in-ground matrix placed in Sentricon stations around your home's perimeter. Stations are inspected and serviced on at least an annual basis, with bait replaced as needed to ensure continuous protection.

- Recruit® AG FlexPack™ Termite Bait is an above-ground station used when termites are already active, with live feeding confirmed in visible mud tubes or known access points. Rather than waiting for termites to find an in-ground station, this format lets our technicians bring the bait directly to where termites are working right now.

Both products contain noviflumuron. Proper installation by a licensed professional keeps the treatment targeted and safe for your household, pets, and yard.
Always Active: Protection That Starts the Day We Install It
Roberts Termite & Pest Control deploys the Sentricon system with Always Active™ technology, which means every station is loaded with Recruit® HD bait at the time of installation. There is no monitoring-only phase. The elimination process starts on day one.
The bait is engineered to last. It holds up in the soil over extended periods, and research shows termites find it appealing as it ages. Your protection stays consistent between service visits.
Once a colony has been eliminated, the stations remain in place. In Austin, where rapid development across the metro regularly displaces termite populations from construction sites into established neighborhoods, that ongoing perimeter protection is a solid line of defense.
One bait device contains enough active ingredient to eliminate a typical subterranean termite colony. And because multiple colonies can forage around a single home simultaneously, having a fully baited perimeter rather than a patchwork of monitoring devices means the system is ready to work on any colony that encounters it, not just the one you already know about.
How Roberts Termite & Pest Control Puts It to Work
Both Recruit HD and Recruit AG FlexPack are legally required to be installed and serviced by a state-licensed pest management professional. Our technicians carry that licensure, and they have undergone intensive training on the system's installation, maintenance, and performance standards.
What that looks like in practice:
- Inspection. We start with a thorough walkthrough of your property, inside and out, looking for termite activity, moisture conditions, structural vulnerabilities, and risk factors specific to your home. You will know what we found before we leave.
- Installation. Stations go into the soil at measured intervals around your perimeter, with additional placements in higher-risk zones. Where live activity is confirmed, Recruit AG FlexPack goes in at the active site.
- Ongoing Service. We return on schedule, inspect every station, document activity, and replace bait as needed. Our records give you a running account of your home's protection status, season by season.
Why Homeowners Choose with Roberts Termite & Pest Control
Knowing the Sentricon system and knowing Austin are two different things. Our technicians do both.
We understand how termite pressure varies across this region. We know the cedar and live oak trees that define so many Austin landscapes are common termite harborage sites. We know how to assess a home in South Austin differently than one backing up to a greenbelt in Cedar Park. We work across Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, and Caldwell counties, and that day-to-day familiarity with this specific market shapes how we approach every inspection and installation.
When we inspect your home, we tell you what we found and what we recommend, honestly. If the risk is low, we say so. If action is warranted, we explain why and walk you through your options. The goal is to give you a clear picture, not to sell you something you do not need.
